Application Steps

 
Step 1: Apply to Pima Community College
  • Apply

  • Select Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) Certificate for the program

Step 2: Receive email with your Pima Community College student number (your A number)
  • Activate your “MyPima” account

Step 3: Email EMT Program Advisor
  • Advisor Michelle Savage

  • Let them know you are applying as a Santa Cruz Center EMT student

    Include your Pima CC student number (A number) in your email message

Step 4: Complete the My Student Checklist (go to MyPima), including the Placement tests
  • For Placement Test information, contact the MA Program Advisor

Step 5: Complete EMT 100 prerequisites and Submit documents
  • Start Now! Many items take several weeks to complete!

Step 6: Receive an email confirming your registration in your EMT class.
  • Email includes everything you need to know to be ready for the first day of class!

Prepare for Admission

Vaccination Requirements
  • Complete Hep B series – 3 injections or a negative titer
  • MMR – 2 injections or a negative titer
  • TB – proof of negative test results within six months of program start date
  • Tdap – 1 injection within the last 10 years
  • Varicella – 2 injections or a negative titer
  • Flu Vaccine – Spring semester students only
Complete Prerequisites
  • Obtain an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) card ($88) or provide copy of current card (Information about taking BLS course provided during Virtual Info Session)
  • Provide a copy of your current health insurance card
  • Provide a copy of your driver’s license or birth certificate
