Leveraging Our Partnerships For Quality Education.
The Santa Cruz Center is the only existing Provisional Community College District. As such, we work with other educational entities until the time we achieve our own status as a Community College. We have established successful working partnerships with C-CREO, Pima Community College, University of Arizona and Arizona @ Work.

These invaluable partnerships allow us to offer a wide range of educational offerings for youth and adults in our community:
Pima Community College
Pima Community College offers classes in Nogales at the Santa Cruz Center. Students can earn certificates, take courses toward transfer, complete a number of transfer and workforce programs or obtain an associate or bachelor’s degree. Students can pursue associate degrees, certificate programs, university transfer courses (“the basics”) and developmental classes. Often students can complete lower-level course requirements before transferring to a four-year college or university.

University of Arizona Nogales
The University of Arizona in Nogales partners with Pima Community College to extend the University’s educational mission and provide affordable, accessible opportunities to earn high-quality and meaningful University of Arizona degrees. The University of Arizona in Nogales offers career-focused Education and Applied Science programs. Connected with the needs of industry and education in Santa Cruz County, we offer tailored programs and services to students in the local community.
C-CREO
C-CREO (College and Career Readiness & Educational Opportunities) Gear Up Program is managed by the Santa Cruz County School Superintendent’s Office. Its goal is to prepare the next generation to succeed in post-secondary education. Starting with a cohort of approximately 780 seventh graders in 2019, C-CREO will expand several proven and promising practices to re-engineer schools for future cohorts. The anticipated result of this effort is to create a cultural shift in the perceived value of college and career, and to instill in each student a sense of personal responsibility and commitment to succeed.

Santa Cruz County
Santa Cruz County is Arizona’s smallest county, encompassing only 1,238 square miles. Created by the 20th Territorial Assembly in 1899, the county is named after the river that flows into Mexico from Arizona before winding back into Santa Cruz and Pima counties. The river was named Santa Cruz, which means Holy Cross in Spanish, by Father Kino in the 17th century.
Santa Cruz County plays a crucial role in the Santa Cruz County provisional community college district, particularly in funding and oversight, with the county board of supervisors having similar powers and duties as community college districts.
