Santa Cruz County’s General Educational Development program gives residents the opportunity to earn a state high school diploma, recognizing completion of a high school level of education. Sometimes called Graduate Equivalency Degree or General Educational Diploma, GED traditionally stands for General Educational Development test.


Testing For High School Level Education.
Santa Cruz Center is the only testing center available in Santa Cruz County for the high school equivalency General Education Development (GED) exams. The Santa Cruz Center collaborates with ARIZONA@WORK to provide the GED to residents through training and testing. ARIZONA@WORK serves as the Santa Cruz County Continuing Education provider that prepares residents wishing to obtain their high school diploma. The Santa Cruz Center is the only local entity with the license to proctor or administer the exam.
To receive a GED, students need to pass all four subject areas on the GED test: mathematical reasoning, reasoning through language arts, social studies, and science. All four tests do not need to be taken at once. Test subjects can be taken over time at your own pace.

There are four separate tests that together make up the entire GED exam. Each test takes at least one hour, and a certain score must be achieved in order to pass.

Earning The High School Equivalency Diploma.
You will need to schedule a testing time online at GED.com before you can take the exam at the Santa Cruz Center in Nogales. In preparation for your tests, you can take local GED classes, live online classes, and see practice tests, questions, and test previews.
