This program is designed to help you build practical, job-ready skills for entry-level roles in mining, manufacturing, and other industries. You will learn through a combination of online lessons and structured hands-on lab experiences using simulators.

Program Highlights

  • Begin in August 2026

  • Complete in May 2027

  • Earn 16 college credits in two semesters

Program Format

  • Online coursework you can complete on your own schedule, and  

  • Flexible lab training and in-person instruction at the Santa Cruz Center on Wednesdays and Saturdays    

Things to consider

  • This program is available only to residents of Santa Cruz County, AZ.

  • Current AIT students are not eligible.

  • This program is designed to be completed over two semesters (not accelerated) 

  • Online coursework requires self-motivation and time management  

  • Commit to a two-semester program of study where a cohort of students begins and completes the program together 

Application Process

The application process includes two required steps

 

  • Scholarship Application

All interested applicants must first apply for and be awarded the program scholarship. Only individuals selected for the scholarship may move forward.  Scholarship application is due by May 1, 2026. 

  • Pima Community College Application 

If you are awarded the program scholarship, you must be admitted to PCC and be eligible to register for PCC classes. College application is due two weeks from the scholarship award notification.
